I hope you'll let me know if you do find time to re-read the series, and whether you still feel the same afterwards.Michelehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15888298679182871669noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14162585.post-1140299559267397122006-02-18T21:52:00.000+00:002006-02-18T21:52:00.000+00:00If I have time this summer, I'll reread Siegel's t...If I have time this summer, I'll reread Siegel's trilogy with your words in mind, but I can't help it: anything that ends with the main character forgetting really bugs me. I find it to be a real let down, almost a cheat. It's the only thing I don't like about the Dark is Rising series, and there's another series (something with red and black in the title?) that did something similar.Liz Bhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16671844475303001610noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14162585.post-1140117498079581722006-02-16T19:18:00.000+00:002006-02-16T19:18:00.000+00:00Indeed ! It's happened repeatedly throughout history in many different places, where a lie has been repeated so often that no one will believe the truth.Michelehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15888298679182871669noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14162585.post-1140114080538101802006-02-16T18:21:00.000+00:002006-02-16T18:21:00.000+00:00Yes, I completely agree. I guess once something's repeated enough times, one eventually starts believing it. Just thinking about recent events, the whole 'weapons of mass destruction' argument... It's amazing how easy it is to manipulate people with language. The Poodle's Friendhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14145759580429858299noreply@blogger.com
