Book Discussion Group: King Of Shadows

Positive responses from a range of kidslit Bloggers mean that the Scholar's Blog Book Discussion Group will begin in February. We will start by reading King of Shadows. King of Shadows is also available from Amazon.com (though with a rather less dramatic cover !)

My review was a Poetry Friday piece, if you want to take a look before committing yourself to participation. It's a combination of fantasy and historical novel - and I found it totally gripping. Discussions will be over on the Scholar's Blog Spoiler Zone and will begin on February 6. I'll post an announcement here to let you know they've started as well as posting on the Spoiler Zone. I look forward to seeing you over there and hope that you enjoy the book...

I'm in; I've owned this for years and just have never moved it to the top of the pile. Thanks for the motivation!

Michele, I think this is a great idea. I will find this book and try to read it in time for the discussion.

I love this idea! I don't know why none of us ever thought of it before - it's so perfect! I'm in and I'll post about it on my blog at the beginning of next week. Just promise not to correct my grammar or use of the elipsis.

To be honest, MR, I had the idea a few months ago, but was in two minds about it. It was the Cybils discussions that made me think it was at least worth proposing it !

And yes, I promise... !

I've been wanting to read this one for at least a year now - this will be an excuse to finally get to it! Just so my library can get it in time. . . .

Oh my choice was spot on, then ! I'm so impressed by my uncanniness !

Jan. and Feb. are just a little crazy:-) Thanks for organizing! LOVE the idea! (Now, if we get a snow day and I get a free day for reading, I am totally in this round!)www.

Sounds great! I love Susan Cooper and I haven't read this one yet, so it's perfect!

This sounds great! I have to do my Cybils reading first, but should be able to add this in.

Excellent ! How nice everyone wants to join in !!

Franki, join when you can - the discussion won't close, so if you can get to the book until mid-to-late-February, post after that !

Sheila, you hadn't posted before on *this* particular post !

Nancy, of course your Cybils reading must come first...
