Firefly Quote of the Week

Wash: Don't fall asleep now. Sleepiness is weakness of character. Ask anyone. You're acting captain. Know what happens you fall asleep now?
Zoe: Jayne slits my throat and takes over.

("Shindig", Season 1)

I recently started watching Firefly and have found myself overwhelmingly addicted to it.

(I found your weblog when I was trying to find the poem Legolas sings about the sea. You had posted Masefield's Sea-Fever and mentioned Legolas in the post. Good old Google. Heh. The end result was that I discovered another poet and another excellent weblog to read.)

Well that's what you get when you've got someone who goes in for random free association (Legolas and John Masefield together in one post ! *grins*) As a child I was often told I had a grasshopper mind because my trains of thought often jumped the tracks to another line !

Did you find Legolas' poem, in the end ?

Thanks for your comments on my Blog... And yes, isn't Firefly addictive ??

Here is Legolas' poem:

To the Sea, to the Sea! The white gulls are crying,
The wind is blowing, and the white foam is flying.
West, west away, the round sun is falling.
Grey ship, grey ship, do you hear them calling,
The voices of my people that have gone before me?
I will leave, I will leave the woods that bore me;
For our days are ending and our years falling.
I will pass the wide waters lonely sailing.
Long are the waves on the Last Shore falling,
Sweet are the voices in the Lost Isle calling,
In Eressëa, in Elvenhome that no man can discover,
Where the leaves fall not: land of my people for ever!
